Touhou Tuesday: Golden3rdeye (Satori as a James Bond villan)

I bet if you swapped my Aunt Polly with Suika Ibuki. I think no one would notice the difference. Assuming that no asks why Polly suddenly has big horns and the busted chains on her wrists of course.

Other than the Oni swap fantasy thing. Aerohou Project 5: Nationalistic Seizure of Eastern Fantasy is almost complete! The ingame plot stuff is 95% and I'm working on the special minigames. One of which is a condensed version of Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (The Genesis one).

Ummm...Uhhhh...In Aerohou Project 5, these are songs that play during the credits

I just thought that the way they sounded, it felt like these two would be satisfying to listen after the climatic battle and subsequent escape. I revealed too much, whoops.

Aerohou Project 5: Nationalistic Seizure of Eastern Fantasy (PROGRESS REPORT)

I just finished the Forest of Magic and I just started work on Youkai Mountain, the movesets for Yukari Yakumo, Sakuya Izayoi, and another party member. Who's this mystery party member you may ask? You'll just have to find out *whir* *click*.

The Scarlet Devil Mansion is complete.
Easter Egg involving some slash pairing is inserted.
I just started work on the credits.

Just to give you guys an idea of where I'm.

Past three days in a nutshell

Waiting in a car followed by occasional eating and bathroom usage, culminating in a doctor's visit out of state ('tis a yearly thing), then waiting in a car again.

Payoff? Other than nearly crying after the doctor's visit, I obtained Mrs. Pacman and Sonic CD. As such, the game page will be updated.

RevieWednesday: Platypus

Platypus is a horizontal Shmup (Shoot 'Em Up) involving a clay space/fighter plane thingy shooting at just as plasticine enemies ranging from UFO's to laser shooting cylinders. There are 4 levels divided into 5 areas. This isn't much until you realize that this was a indie game made for a publisher that fucked over the developer, since the poor guy only got $500 for his work. This was my favorite game, along with Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom. But does this game hold up after the years. Let's see.

POSITIVES
The game looks great and is accompanied by remixes of already catchy C64 music. The gameplay is fun and the upgrades are pretty good. Plays really good, even better than a keyboard with a controller (I beat it with a USB NES controller).

NEGATIVES
Its difficult, even on easy. For example, there's an area in the second level that involves dodging balloons that contain spikes, which reminds me. THIS GAME HAS ONE HIT KILLS, AND ENEMIES CAN COME FROM THE LEFT AND RIGHT SCREEN, POTENTIALLY TRAPPING YOU! Hence why It took me 10 or so years to beat this.

VERDICT: 4.1 out of 5 Stars
"The game is fun but difficult...mostly difficult, that is level 2 onward."

Touhou Tuesday: Momiji + Chen = Catdog

Yes the title is a lame reference to how Catdog is and the fact I tried to do a walfas of the "Scientifically Accurate" version of the song, it turned out to be too frame intensive and if anyone else can do it, then go ahead! I'm not stopping you. But anyway here's the meat of this this week's Touhou Tuesday. My more favorite fan songs! You were expecting that this was going to happen sooner or later...

Cirno's Perfect Math Class

Chirumiru

Convictor Yamaxanadu

Okuu's Nuclear Fusion Gym

Chen No Gensokyo Ondo

Marisa Stole The Precious Thing

Overdrive

Bad Apple (You knew this was coming)

Reward to the Dog

That's really all I can think of that I personally like. Before I forget, I have a warning for all those who wish to look for Touhou Project fan songs.
DON'T WATCH ANY THE OF THE MUSIC VIDEOS MADE BY INNOCENT KEY! THEY AREN'T THAT INNOCENT!
IF you don't heed this warning, be prepared to see some NSFW content, ignore this if you're into that kind of stuff. I won't judge.

In other news, Sakuya Izayoi is playable in Aerohou Project 5: Nationalistic Seizure of Eastern Fantasy. Plus the GameJolt page of this game does exist but is hidden until I feel like making the thumbnail. Also, I'm announcing achievement support for this game! Just Sayin' bro!

Long time, no see

Sorry for not updating on this blog you guys. Its been ironically busy these past few days. Turns out I forgot a RevieWednesday. But I managed to beat Street Fighter 2 on the Sega Genesis (on the easiest mode, since I'm very inexperienced with fighting games) and figured out how to beat the graveyard levels (zombie bosses are bullshit) in Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, only to get my ass handed to me by the cavern levels. Then I started to not suck at Super Monaco GP until I crashed into a pile of tires. Even today, I got some free food whilst working at the Farmer's Market, only to lose said free food. Plus an overly long Psych Evaluation test that was absolutely grueling to say the least.

Also I had a dream about being at school in residence with my brother, (strangely, the kitchen was the same as my grandparent's). My brother tattled on me saying what I was doing in one of the bedrooms at the same moment I was doing it. So I went downstairs to beat him up (I heard him saying it, as if he was in the room too). I was punching him in the most awkward way possible, then I woke up. It was one of my more memorable dreams. (Such as the one where my youngest brother and Komachi from Touhou Project were flying together, the two Touhou cosplayers at my school [Reimu and Marisa repectively], then the one dream that involved me having to prove myself that I was some kind of chosen one or something of the matter, that dream ended when I ran into a firebender carrying a pile of gold bars, so I never figured out the rest of the plot though, other than seeing the ending of it at the beginning of my dream. I shall spare the details since I'm not one to write erotica).

Sorry for the inactivity!

Touhou Tuesday: Embodiment of a Blog Entry

Man I haven't done one of these in a while. Ummmm...If you stuck Chen and Momiji together, would you get catdog?

Anyway here's some frames for  walfas version of  "Scientifically Accurate Catdog"

Making this is kinda hard. Considering that I'm trying to put Momiji's head onto Chen's body. I might resume production on this, considering the song itself is kinda fun and its an interesting idea.

Here's another screenshot of AeroHou Project 5

New Games in my collection!

There are some new games in my collection (some of them I had before, I just hadn't put them on the list), but some of them are new. I also edited which games are for the Sega CD, so there's that. Hope you guys enjoy!

Just look the game collection page on the side.

Space Harrier: The Gym Game

I was in the bathroom, listening to the Space Harrier theme on my iPod, when I thought of making a version of Space Harrier to be played outside. So here's how to play:

CONCEPT:
The game is played by one player and X enemies (X being a variable of how many other people are playing), the object of the game is that the player must get to the end of a stage (whether it be a field or just looping around a large room) and avoiding the enemies and their projectiles (dodgeballs). The enemies on the other hand, must "kill" the player by throwing the aforementioned projectiles at the player. The player has only three lives and  the game can continue as long as people are interested in playing. Once the player has lost all three lives, the person being the player will be rotated out.

RULES:
1. The player must be running at all times (to simulate the gameplay of the actual arcade game)
2. The player can pick up whatever projectiles are on the ground to use against enemies (enemies that are hit are out of the game for 30 seconds)
3. There can be as many enemies as the environment (and amount of dodgeballs available) can allow, but the minimum amount of enemies is 2
4. At least 4-5 projectiles (dodgeballs) are needed
5. The game can last as long the player as at least one life
6. Gym mats (and other mat-like materials that can be propped vertically) can be arranged like poles to simulate trees/poles that can be avoided (likewise in the arcade game)
7. The game can be played competitively by timing how long a person lasts as a player until all three lives are used up (this will be your score)
8. (OPTIONAL) The referee has to say "Welcome to the fantasy zone! Get ready!" before starting the game (round if played competitively)
9. (OPTIONAL) The Space Harrier theme is played during the duration of the game/round
10. Lives are lost when the player is subject to the following: Getting hit by a projectile, running into a stage optiscale, running into a enemy in front of you (in which case the enemy is considered dead, see Rule 2)
11. When played competitively, the winner is determined by their score (the amount of time they lasted before losing all lives)
12. When the player's game is over (when all lives are lost) the next one is rotated in

I hope you guys like this new game I made to play outside. Also, I might do one for Touhou Project.

Apology for having no Touhou Tuesday this week

Yeah, my weekend was a bit of a clusterfuck last weekend and I couldn't find the time to make a Touhou Tuesday. I barely made the RevieWednesday with some of the time I had. So here's some news about the Aerohou RPG, such as its new name!

Aerohou Project 5: Nationalistic Seizure of Eastern Fantasy

And here's some screenshots!

I thinking about making a GameJolt page for this (despite having no public version made yet).

Some of my favorite 80's songs

Mexican Radio

Tainted Love

I Ran

Safety Dance

Beat It

Take On It

Bad

Smooth Criminal

We're Not Gonna Take It

I think I might do one for the 90's.

Probably one of the most quotable things I've ever said...

"With Baseball you don't need so much testosterone and luck like football - its more about skill and strategy."

RevieWednesday: Sony Paystation

The Sony Playstation was released in 1995. It was a 32-bit machine born out of the failed SNES CD add-on that resulted in Nintendo creating its biggest rival yet (and indirectly killing SEGA in the process) and Phillips making the really awful CD-i Mario/Zelda games (the only good thing that came out of the CD-i games was its major contribution to the Youtube Poop scene). The console pretty much lasted until slightly after the release of the Playstation 3. So lets look at this grey slab that you could possibly write the ten commandments on.

POSITIVES
The Sony Playstation has a great variety of quality titles ranging from Crash Bandicoot to Final Fantasy VII to Gran Turismo. Playstation unitized Memory Cards for storage and used CDs as a gaming medium allowing for cheaper production and more memory to make stuff with. Plus the Playstation's shape allows for tidy storage, since its about half the size of a stone slab from Minecraft. The Playstation is the 90's equivalent of the Atari 2600, underpowered (we'll get to that later) and sold like hotcakes.

NEGATIVES
The Sony Playstation's controller uses directional buttons instead of a D-pad, but because internally, its just one piece of plastic that pivots around, it feels wonky and doesn't feel responsive (it is responsive, it just doesn't feel like it). The discs (unlike cartridges) scratch easily and renders the games unplayable and thus the costly search for more discs becomes a thing. The console is relatively underpowered compared to the SEGA Saturn or the Nintendo 64 (but sales say otherwise). The memory cards fill up quickly, so if you have a large collection or is the kind of person that uses up save slots all the time, you need a least two (at the most, like 30). Plus some of the better titles on the system don't have support for analog sticks so your stuck with the poor man's D-pad.

VERDICT: 4.4 out of 5 stars
"Despite its quasi-glaring controller/save memory issues, its a great video game console. Play this and the Playstation 2 if you want to play Sony and not deal with their shite security problems."
