The Era of RPG Maker MV is Here?

I pre ordered RPG Maker MV off of steam (so I could get some free goodies) and It came out last Friday and I can safely say that MV probaby means Manual Version. Reason?

  1. The removal of the resource manager, means you have to copy and paste things directly from folder to folder. What's that? You accidentally moved the files? Good luck finding them, especially if its enemy art.
  2. You now need to have your music be converted into two formats. You can have in one or the other but you would have the risk of breaking compatibility by exporting to a different system so your kinda forced into a corner with this. It would be slightly easier to deal with if only the resource manager existed.
  3. There are minimal items, armor, enemies, and weapons. I spent the past two days adding back most of the stuff. Try making about 125 skills by yourself and you'll see what I mean.
  4. HTML5 exports can only be done by digging into the program files. Nice,

I have a Steam review detailing some more and I might make an even more fleshed out review for this blog. http://steamcommunity.com/id/aeroboxman/recommended/363890/

Hit the Road Marisa!

Yet another Walfas video I've made. This time, Marisa has gone on a bit of a "borrowing" run and have decided to go the Hakurei Shrine. However, things aren't as they seem...

So I've Touhou-fied Ray Charles' "Hit the Road Jack" and this is the result. Next time I might do a Spitting Image song.

About the future of Viagate

So I started to work on Viagate earlier this month after becoming impatient for RPG Maker MV thinking I'll have to wait until December or worse...January. So the the game is somewhere between 33% and 49% complete and I've dedicated this game to Marc Levasseur.

But then, RPG Maker MV came out for pre-order and I snatched it up almost immediately. Also its release date got announced too, October 23rd. So what's happening is that I have a game in mid-development that is about to be washed aside for a newer engine that has superior features. What I'm I to do.  So I'm afraid of having to cancel the first game in a year.

So take this as a announcement AND a cancellation warning for my latest masterpiece, Viagate.
I'll touch upon this subject at a later time.

RIP Marc Levasseur 1983-2015

This week, a dear teacher of mine, passed away this week. It was shocking to hear about his death to say the least. I liked the guy as a person for he did not feel like a teacher. But a friend with a great personality. He would help me through the time that I was in deep shit. But still. Here is his obituary (from Legacy.com)

"Marc Edward Levasseur, 32, of Holliston, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, September 26th, 2015. Born in Framingham, he was the son of Margaret and Edward Levasseur of Holliston. Marc worked as a Special Education Teacher at Reed Academy in Framingham. He was currently attending Cambridge College working towards his Master's Degree in Special Education. Marc was an incredibly hard worker and was passionate and talented in working with children with special needs. He cared very deeply for his family and was particularly fond of his nephews and niece. He was loved and respected by his family, friends and coworkers. Besides his parents, he leaves behind two brothers, James Levasseur and his wife Elizabeth of Medway and Christopher Levasseur and his wife Amy of Holliston; his grandfather, George Levasseur of East Providence, as well as his four nephews, Connor, Parker, Andrew and Jaxon, and his niece, Catherine."

May he rest in peace.

EDIT: I forgot that his name is spelt with a C instead of a K. Sorry.
