Aerohou Project 5 TV Tropes!

So this is a blog post dedicated to finding all the tropes in Aerohou Project 5: Nationalistic Seizure of Eastern Fantasy! So here we go!

  • Downer Ending: 3 of the 4 ingame endings involve a war of some kind, as those three are bad endings. The second ending (being defeated by Dr. Cohen) can be interpreted as Chen's suicide note.
  • Karmic Death: Brolli Diamondback's robot suit puts him in a similar situation of the purple guy in the end of FNAF 3.
  • Space Compression: Gensokyo and Former Hell maps.
  • The Battle Didn't Count: The final boss with a revived Dr. Cohen (Mecha Cohen).
  • Big Bad: Dr. Cohen, Col. Brolli Diamondback General Theo "Bull" Conner III, and Commander Zoey Quinn.
  • Boss Room: Brolli and Dr. Cohen's respective lairs.
  • What the Hell Hero?: Trevor's character pretty much sums this trope up, cause he's a racist.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Dr. Cohen.
  • Multiple Endings: Too bad 75% of them are bad endings.
  • Plot Coupon: Those RF discrepancies.
  • Secret Character: Larice from Cognitive Dissonance, complete with PSI attacks!
  • As Lethal as it Needs to Be: The Cohenist Camp showers.
  • Super Fic: This the fifth in a series of written stories, the fourth is currently tentative.
  • Crack Fic
  • Series Fic
  • Self-Insert Fic: This is turned up to eleven due to the inclusion of developer's brother, former school friend, and his school's director. The latter being flanderized for being the role of the villain.
  • War Fic: Taking in account the three bad endings. One of which to the point of breaking Chen..
  • Breaking the Cutie: Chen in the second bad ending.
  • Doujin Soft
  • Game Within a Game: Michael Jackson's Moonwalker in RPG form, as a minigame. Up to Eleven with the original Genesis soundtrack.
  • Freeware Games
  • Boss Corridor
  • Dug too Deep
  • Lethal Lava Land: Former Hell
  • Levels Take Flight
  • The Lost Woods: Forest of Magic.
  • Minigame Zone: The OGMS.
  • One Time Dungeon: Boston, Boston Sewers, and the Prudential Building.
  • Ship Level: Never made it into the final game.
  • Overworld: Gensokyo and by extension, Former Hell.
  • Ice Palace: Cirno and Letty Whiterock built this out of their boredom.
  • Space World: The Cohenist Satellite.
  • Kill Sat: The Cohenist Satellite is equipped with a Medium Orbit Ion Cannon.
  • Miko: Reimu Hakurei.
  • Youkai: The game takes place in the Touhou Project universe. So this is kinda mandatory.
  • Player Headquarters: AeroSoft of Gensokyo.
  • Skeleton Key: The various key cards.
  • Standard RPG Items: Fun Fact: The default RPG Maker VX Ace items are left alone to shorten development time, which in turn help keep the game being made before getting bored of the project.
  • Pick on Someone Your Own Size: The main protagonist is in his early 30's. The villain, his 80's/90's. (His unintended mechanical additions ensure him having an elongated lifespan).
  • Storming the Castle: This is accomplished by crashing an old hydrogen airship piloted by a has-been Jihadist into a large stone tower. Stranding the party members inside the Cohenist Base's walls. Only then you can enter the main building.
  • Man Versus Machine: The iPanzer bosses.
  • Mooks: Femimacht and the Junior Bazooka as well as their recolor variants.
  • The Empire: Cohenist Order.
  • The Gunslinger: Trevor.
  • Another Side, Another Story: Fujiwara no Mokou's lost laserdisc.
  • Com Mon: Small Fairy
