Minecraft's Swiftness potion is actually Soda!

I was playing Minecraft the other night and I started thinking about some of the potion recipes. For the one that grants you extra speed (Potion of Swiftness) requires sugar and the effect of extra speed is actually the player having a sugar rush.

That's not all. The sound effect for drinking the potion is a slurping followed by a slight fizzy sound, suggesting that the potion is carbonated, which then suggests that all potions are some form of carbonated beverage. Perhaps the Strength potion is an energy drink or that the night vision potion is a vitamin drink. Regeneration and Instant health are like those tonics that people would peddle as medicine in the old west. The ones that involve poison or instant damage are just heavily expired versions of the original potion.
