Autism Speaks: Where a charity became a fear mongering bunch of wankers!
So I watch TheMysteriousMrEnter, he's a reviewer who both sees the good and bad of TV animation...mostly the bad of it. He's also the one who through his videos, sort of taught me how to look at animation from a critical perspective. Recently, he made a video debunking one of the Autism Speaks ads. He look at it was negative to say the least. Despite knowing about the organization before the video, I was blinded to what they did and what their take on autism is. Which apparently (underlined for sarcasm sake) is a disease that must be stopped and that it'll ruin the kids life and your life just as much which is a lot. Jesus Christ! Its like as if Hitler tried being nice for once...and then became one of those really extremist feminists, knowing that he'll probably use her (now he just made the switch) resources to push propaganda. But I'm getting SUPER off topic here, I'll just show you the video that he made:
Yeah, that commercial he talked about, was offensive to me and to him as well. At the beginning he said that he two was on the spectrum (I'm also on the autistic spectrum as well), so one of my own warmed me and to an extent, us, That Autism Speaks isn't what it seems. I personally suggest taking their organization with a grain of salt. Actively complain to them as you like, I don't advise going out of your way to do it, especially if they think its malicious and send out the Blue Puzzle Police after you.
Hopefully this enlightened you about something that's working against its cause.
